The hardest part about Rainier is keeping kids on the trails- it’s not allowed to walk in the grass because foot traffic disturbs the fragile alpine wildflowers. I have taken to telling kids that the stone outbuilding in the valley is the “wildflower jail” and if they pick or step on them; the wildflower police will take them to it. At one point; a park ranger overheard me threatening the kids and gave me a “yeah!” And two thumbs up 😂

(Don’t come at me; these kids know me well and know I’m not going to imprison them)

This location requires a fair amount of trekking but this bunch held it together as they always do; we’ve had so many “incidents” over the years of wrangling babies/toddlers/preschoolers over rocks, in the cold ocean, on windy cliffs, up rainy trails… it gets easier every year though 🙃😆

Yet another cutie in my neighborhood…it’s funny right now, most of our neighborhood kid-crew that roams the streets are girls; but apparently the new batch is all boy ✨
